What better way to get ready for the Texas State Sporting Clays Championship than some regular league shooting? The Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch Spring League is am 8 week shooting league where you’ll squad up and compete for awards and bragging rights. This year’s spring league will skip a week in late April due to the Texas State Shoot, so it’ll actually run a little longer than normal.
Weekly shoots on March 16th, 23rd, 30th, April 6th, 13th, 20th, (skipping April 27th due to the Texas State Championship), May 4th, and 11th. League scores can be shot Wednesday through Sunday.
League Awards Dinner Party will be held on Wednesday, May 18th.
League scores are based on 50 Targets per week. (The Practice course and 5-stand are available before or after you shoot your weekly round.)
Enjoyable yet challenging targets will be set weekly by Travis Mears and Gary Madigan.
Price for League is $250 for all 8 weeks which includes the dinner and awards party..
A minimum of four (4) shooter per team is required to make a team with a maximum of six (6) shooters on a team. Team scores will take the highest 4 shooters including handicap for the weekly total. Team rosters must be determined prior to the end of the first week. Individual shooters will be grouped together to create a team. Shooters can only compete for one team per league.
Handicaps are calculated by using the shooter’s weekly score, then subtracting it from “par”, which is 43 and multiplying the difference times .70 (70%). Example: If a shooter’s score is 30 the equation is 43-30=13 x .70 = 9.1. The product (in the example 9.1) will be added to the shooter’s score. Handicaps adjusted each week. Maximum score with handicap is 43.
WEATHER and BANK ROUNDS:
If you are not able to make it on the scheduled evening, bank scores must be made up by Sunday of that week or you will be given an average of 2 other weeks scores for that week. The same for weather related cancellations.
