Event Planner/Sales Rep

Defender has an immediate opening for Event Planner/Sales Rep. Applicants must be passionate about event planning, sales, and excel at providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be eager to help those who are looking to Defender Outdoors to host their next individual or corporate event in a fun and exciting way.

This position will be responsible for the sale, planning and execution of event opportunities held at Defender Outdoors. Events can range from bachelor parties, group outings, self-defense instruction, Defender-hosted social events and more. This position is also responsible for outside sales to various companies within the community bringing in new clientele. This position is ideal for a self-starter who is looking for opportunities to excel.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Identify and actively pursue potential event opportunities to be held at Defender Outdoors
  • Manage all aspects of the event planning process including various facility and private events
  • Creating and executing agreements and budgets with clients
  • Answer phone calls, return voicemails, provide quotes, and respond to emails in a timely manner
  • Work with marketing and PR to promote and publicize Defender events
  • Update event activity reports on a daily, weekly and monthly status to leadership
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and report on outcomes
  • Assist Event Director as needed with answering various customer service inquiries
  • Maintain and organize event and classroom furniture as well as coordinate any repairs
  • Audit internal systems for updated events and training classes and input across various platforms
  • Assist with off-site trade shows

Qualifications and Skills

  • Outgoing, friendly, and able to communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently with little direct supervision
  • Excellent organization, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer proficiency in applications like MS Office
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure or in high-stress situations
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm and willingness to learn
  • Must be reliable and responsible
  • Must be 21 years or older

Salary is a base hourly plus commission. Benefits are available to full-time employees.
