DESCRIPTION:Dates: \nOctober 7th\, 14th\, 21st \, 28th\, November 4th\, 11th and League Dinner Party/Awards on November 18th. \n***Teams and Individuals can shoot anytime between Wednesday at 10AM and Sunday close of business each week.*** \nBasics: \nLeague scores based on 50 targets per week.   \n(Practice course and 5-stand will also be available prior and after weekly rounds)  \nTargets: \nEnjoyable targets will be set by Course Manager Gary Madigan and Christian Daniels  \nPrice: \nPrice for league is $250 for all 6 weeks which includes the League Party Dinner/Awards (10% off for Members) \nTeams: \nA minimum of 4 shooters per team is required to make a team and a maximum of 6 shooters.  Team scores will take the highest 4 shooters including handicap for the weekly total.  Team rosters must be determined prior to the end of the first week.  Individual shooters will be grouped together to create a team.  Shooters can only compete for one team per league.  \nHandicaps: \nHandicaps are calculated by using the shooter’s weekly score\, then subtracting it from “par”\, which is 45 and multiplying the difference times .70 (70%) Example:  If a shooter’s score is 30 the equation is 45-30=15 x .70 = 10.5.  the product (in the example 10.5) will be added to the shooter’s score.  Handicaps adjusted each week.  Maximum score with handicap is 45.  \nWeather and Bank Rounds: \nIf you are not able to make it on the scheduled evening\, bank scores must be made up by Sunday of that week or you will be given an average of 2 other weeks scores for that week.  The same for weather related cancelations.   \n  \nAdditional Info: \n• 10% off of League for Members\n  \n• Sign up before week 1 and you will be entered into drawing for 100 free targets\n  \n• League Party we will draw from the present participants for a free entry into following league\n  \n• Top 5 shooters will go into FINAL on League Party Night to determine the winner. DESCRIPTION:Practical Shooting 1 is a 2-hour class designed to prepare you for your first practical shooting match\, or refine your fundamentals. This course addresses the foundational skills to practical shooting in a fun and challenging way. \nPractical Shooting 1 sets a strong base for the beginning of your competitive shooting journey. The instructor’s goal for this course is to prepare you for the widely available practical shooting matches in the DFW area\, to include our own here at Defender Outdoors. For those who have already shot some matches but are looking for more than the basics\, please contact the instructor for a private lesson or look for our Practical Shooting 2 class. \nTopics Covered: \n\nPhysical structure\, grip\, and vision\nPredictive and reactive shooting\nConfirmation levels\nTarget transitions\nEntries and exits\nShooting on the move\nHit factor scoring\nProper equipment configuration\n\nWhat To Know Before You Get Here: \nWe request that all students do an honest self-evaluation of experience and skill level. Brand new shooters or those unsure with their abilities will feel overwhelmed jumping into a class like Practical Shooting 1\, which we have seen lead to safety issues and overall\, a lack of having fun. If that’s you\, we would love to see you in one of our other courses such as Pistol 1 or Pistol 2. Taking one of these classes or a private lesson will set the stage to come into Practical Shooting 1. \nAt a minimum\, we recommend that you have confidence in the following: \n\nStrong understanding of the 4 Universal Rules of Firearm Safety\nYour accuracy out to 25 yards\nSafe draw from the holster and experience with your equipment\nProficiency with your firearm and the ability to clear any malfunctions\nHave any questions about the gear you have? Defender offers the LTC shooting proficiency portion every week. \nThe shooting qualification requires that you must be able to load\, unload\, and fire the handgun proficiently. If you are new to or inexperienced with shooting we strongly recommend taking either the LTC Prep or Handgun Fundamentals course. Jax is 1 of 7 known people in the world living with a rare mitochondrial condition called Leigh Syndrome. All proceeds benefit gene therapy research through Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation\, a non-profit 501(c)3. \nABOUT JAX\nEvent details: Jaxson Flynt was diagnosed with a single gene defect in the MTRFR gene on October 30\, 2014. The MTRFR gene mutation causes leigh syndrome\, a terminal mitochondrial disease. This causes Jax to be non-verbal\, fed through a feeding tube\, affects his ability to walk and optic nerve atrophy which leads to blindness. It is caused by a defect in the function of mitochondria within the cells of the body. Our goal is to slow the progression of this disease while working towards a cure for Jax and future generations. This fundraising event directly benefits gene therapy research which looks to be a promising life-extending treatment for Jax who is now 12. DESCRIPTION:Dates: \nOctober 7th\, 14th\, 21st \, 28th\, November 4th\, 11th and League Dinner Party/Awards on November 18th. \n***Teams and Individuals can shoot anytime between Wednesday at 10AM and Sunday close of business each week.*** \nBasics: \nLeague scores based on 50 targets per week.   \n(Practice course and 5-stand will also be available prior and after weekly rounds)  \nTargets: \nEnjoyable targets will be set by Course Manager Gary Madigan and Christian Daniels  \nPrice: \nPrice for league is $250 for all 6 weeks which includes the League Party Dinner/Awards (10% off for Members) \nTeams: \nA minimum of 4 shooters per team is required to make a team and a maximum of 6 shooters.  Team scores will take the highest 4 shooters including handicap for the weekly total.  Team rosters must be determined prior to the end of the first week.  Individual shooters will be grouped together to create a team.  Shooters can only compete for one team per league.  \nHandicaps: \nHandicaps are calculated by using the shooter’s weekly score\, then subtracting it from “par”\, which is 45 and multiplying the difference times .70 (70%) Example:  If a shooter’s score is 30 the equation is 45-30=15 x .70 = 10.5.  the product (in the example 10.5) will be added to the shooter’s score.  Handicaps adjusted each week.  Maximum score with handicap is 45.  \nWeather and Bank Rounds: \nIf you are not able to make it on the scheduled evening\, bank scores must be made up by Sunday of that week or you will be given an average of 2 other weeks scores for that week.  The same for weather related cancelations.   \n  \nAdditional Info: \n• 10% off of League for Members\n  \n• Sign up before week 1 and you will be entered into drawing for 100 free targets\n  \n• League Party we will draw from the present participants for a free entry into following league\n  \n• Top 5 shooters will go into FINAL on League Party Night to determine the winner. Hyperinsulinism (HI) affects many areas of the body\, so to truly treat every aspect of HI\, each child is seen by top physicians\, nurses\, researchers and specialists in the field. These medical professionals have spent additional years of intense study and have dedicated their practice to focusing on CHI. This means that our patients have access to the best care available. It is this level of treatment that has helped earn our program a distinguished international reputation for extraordinary care and achieving positive results. \nMore than 350\,000 babies are born around the world each day. This course is taught entirely on the range with no classroom time. \nTopics Covered: \n\nRefining Handgun Fundamentals\nHolster Draw and Consistent Presentation\nReloads\nMultiple-target Engagements\nDrawing and Shooting on the Move\n\nRequired Equipment: \n\nHandgun\n3 magazines\nEye and ear protection\n200–250 rounds of ammunition (available for purchase)\nKydex or similar hard-plastic holster securely mounted to the belt\n\nStrong-side OWB and AIWB holsters are allowed. Holsters positioned behind the hip bone\, cross-draw holsters and off-body carry are not allowed. Sticky Holsters and similar holsters that are not attached to the belt are not allowed. \nWhat To Know Before You Get Here: \nPistol 3 is an advanced course and is not intended for beginners.
